Virginia's credit repair specialistsRichmond, VA — 37.5407° N / 77.4360° W
Your credit, rewritten.
Credit Repair VA removes the errors, unfair marks and outdated accounts dragging your score down — then rebuilds positive history with a plan built around your goals. Based in Richmond. Working statewide. In your corner under federal consumer law.
Flashy guarantees are illegal in this industry. So we built a practice out of the things that actually move scores: documentation, deadlines and federal law applied on your behalf, every forty days.
Every letter we draft lands in your client portal before it hits the mailbox — with a plain-English note on why we sent it and what should happen next.
/02
A federal toolkit
The FCRA gives you the right to challenge anything inaccurate, misleading or unverifiable. Most people never use it. We use it every single day.
/03
No lock-in
Month-to-month, cancel anytime, and never a charge before the month's work is performed. We keep clients with results, not contracts.
/04
Local and accountable
A real office in Richmond, a phone number a human answers, and case managers who know your file by name — not a ticket number.
03 — Client outcomes
I walked in with a 548 and a drawer full of denial letters. Eleven months later I closed on a house in Midlothian at a rate I didn't think I'd ever qualify for.
Danielle R. — Homeowner, Chesterfield
Three medical collections I'd fought for years came off in two dispute rounds. The wildest part? I watched every letter go out in the portal before the bureaus even opened them.
James T. — Business owner, Richmond
What sold me was what they refused to promise. They walked me through the law instead — then quietly over-delivered on everything they could control.
Angela M. — Teacher, Virginia Beach

Services — the practice
What we fix, and exactly how
No magic, no secret letters, no overnight fixes. Just federal consumer law applied precisely, relentlessly and in the open — by people who do this every day.
01
The credit report audit
Before we dispute a single item, we read everything. A full tri-merge audit across Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, hunting for reporting errors, re-aged accounts, duplicate entries, mixed files and the quiet fingerprints of identity theft.
Tri-merge report pulled and parsed line-by-line
Error map ranked by score impact
Identity-theft red-flag scan
20-minute findings call — free, no obligation
02
Bureau disputes
The heart of the practice. We draft and mail strategic disputes that invoke your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act — then hold the bureaus to their 30-day investigation clock. When an item can't be verified, the law says it has to come off.
Custom-drafted dispute letters, never boilerplate
Method-of-investigation requests
New dispute round every 35–45 days
Escalation when investigations stall
03
Creditor interventions
Some items are better fought at the source. We engage original creditors and collection agencies directly — goodwill adjustments, validation demands and pay-for-delete negotiations that resolve the debt without wrecking the score.
Goodwill campaigns for isolated late payments
Debt validation letters under the FDCPA
Pay-for-delete negotiation
Settlement strategy that puts score first
04
Score rebuilding
Deletions are half the job. The other half is engineering positive history — utilization sequencing, tradeline strategy and disciplined habits that keep your score climbing long after you graduate from the program.
Utilization and payoff sequencing plan
Secured tradeline setup and monitoring
Authorized-user strategy where it makes sense
A 12-month personal rebuild roadmap
05
Business credit
Separate your personal score from your business ambitions. We build EIN-based credit profiles with vendor tradelines and reporting accounts that open real lending doors — from Net-30 vendors to bank-tier financing.
EIN profile and foundation setup
Net-30 vendor tradeline placement
Reporting to Experian Business and D&B
Tier progression toward bank-level credit
Straight pricing
No contracts. No surprises.
The Audit
The full tri-merge audit, your personal error map and a 20-minute findings call. Walk away with the map even if you never hire us.
No contracts, no cancellation fees, and — as required by federal law (CROA) — you are never charged for a month's services before that work has been performed. The average engagement runs four to seven months.
02
The process
From no, to approved.
A disciplined four-to-seven-month campaign — not a mystery box. Here's exactly what happens at every step, and what you'll be doing while we do it.

You doApprove the plan and grant dispute authority.
03
We go to work

Every 35–45 days
You doForward bureau mail to your portal; keep card balances low.

Rebuild and graduate
As deletions land, we pivot to rebuilding: utilization strategy, positive tradelines and habits that lock in your gains. You graduate with a plan that keeps the score climbing without us.
Credit Repair VA was founded in Richmond in 2012 on a simple observation: credit reports are assembled by algorithms with a meaningful error rate — and almost nobody ever reads them. We read them for a living.
Founded by Marcus Whitfield — a former mortgage underwriter who spent a decade watching good people lose loans to bad data — the firm has grown by referral from a desk in Shockoe Bottom to a team serving clients across the Commonwealth.
We're not a call center and we don't run volume. Every client file is managed by a named case manager, every letter is drafted for your specific report, and every result is documented in writing.
Thirteen years in, we've removed more than 38,000 negative items — one carefully argued dispute at a time.
Working principles
/01
Read everything
Most disputes fail because nobody actually read the report. We audit first, argue second.
/02
Write like it matters
Because it does. Our letters cite the specific statute, the specific item and the specific reason — boilerplate gets ignored.
/03
Keep the client in the room
You see every letter before it's mailed and every response within the hour we receive it.
/04
Make no promises the law forbids
No "guaranteed deletions," no invented timelines. Process, documented, on schedule.

Eight years on the other side of the desk in collections. Knows exactly how agencies respond to validation letters — and when they don't.
Elliot Chen

FAQ
Nine questions we hear weekly
If yours isn't here, ask us directly — we answer questions whether or not you ever become a client.
Completely. The Fair Credit Reporting Act gives every consumer the right to dispute information that's inaccurate, misleading or unverifiable — and requires the bureaus to investigate. Credit repair organizations are regulated under the Credit Repair Organizations Act, and we operate fully inside both laws.
No — and neither can anyone else, legally. Any company promising to remove a specific item by a specific date is violating federal law. What we can promise is process: every letter drafted, mailed and tracked on schedule, every round on time.
Most clients graduate in four to seven months. You'll often see the first deletions inside the first two dispute rounds — typically 35 to 60 days — but items vary wildly in difficulty. We'll give you an honest read after the audit.
Anything inaccurate, misleading, unverifiable or obsolete: late payments, collections, charge-offs, repossessions, foreclosures, medical bills, misreported student loans, hard inquiries and outdated personal data. Accurate, verified items generally stay — anyone who says otherwise is selling you something.
Not by itself — a paid collection can still report. That's why we negotiate: validation demands, goodwill adjustments and pay-for-delete agreements where the creditor will play. Sequence matters more than payment.
No. Disputes themselves carry no penalty. You may see small temporary movement while accounts update mid-investigation — that's normal and usually resolves in your favor.
The audit is free. Core Repair runs $99/month and Rebuild Pro $149/month — billed after each month's work is performed, cancellable any time, with no contract or cancellation fee.
No. Beyond being our policy, it's federal law: the CROA prohibits credit repair organizations from charging for services before they're performed.
We're Virginia-born and bred — but your FCRA rights are federal. Most of our clients are statewide, and we handle files across the country by phone, email and portal.
